The Next Chapter

This blog has been created to help update you guys, my family and friends, on what I am doing and where I am. Over the past three weeks so many things have come together in my life.

I have accepted an internship in San Diego, California for ten weeks, working in an interior design firm called Young + Co., Inc. The company is a nationally recognized firm, specializing in healthcare and government projects. (Website: youngcoinc.net) I look forward to becoming a part of their team and putting all I have learned the past four years to good use. I am still trying to find a place to live, so if you have any ideas or connections on that side of the country, that would be much appreciated!

Before San Diego, I will be traveling to Bali, Indonesia for a mission trip with a group from my church, First Babtist of Opelika. This trip isn't a typical mission trip, we won't be going to build a church or doing a lot of evangelism, we will be focusing on relationship building with the university students in the area. Unlike most of Muslim-majority Indonesia, about 93% of Bali's population adheres to Balinese Hinduism, with the percentage of Christians falling under 2%. I have had a very strong calling to go on this trip. I've never done anything like this before but I feel like God has placed a perfect window of time in my life (between school ending and beginning my internship) for me to do this and I'm tired of saying no to God when he comes knocking. "Glory to God" by Steve Fee is the song that has been my cry to the Lord the past couple of months... a line in it is , "Take my life and let it be, all for you and for your glory, take my life and let it be yours." God's plans are far greater than my own plans for my life. It is time for me to trust him. I'll be posting more details about the trip as I learn them.

I look forward to using this blog to update yall on my life and the crazy things that are going on!

God has blessed me with the chance to go to Bali and San Diego and I trust him to provide however prayers can do nothing but good things, as I am traveling all over this huge world!

"But those who wait upon the Lord will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not grow faint." Isaiah 40:31
